We’re onto week 2 here in the quarantine because of the coronavirus. I know many have the opportunity to work from home, and many do not. I’m part of the later group. That’s part of the reason I’m creating more content here on the blog AND being way more active on social media then I have been in the last couple years.
While people tend to look at the negative effects on not being able to work and being stuck in quarantine, I’m trying to hone in on the positive. I’m trying to create something that is my own. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is trying, and we’re definitely not the first. Back in 2011, HuffPost wrote this list of Top Companies Started During A Recession.
- General Electric
- General Motors
- Burger King
Phew! Those are some big players in today’s world! And now think, how many smaller companies or solopreneurs are out there that took advantage of some “down time”. Ones that you may not have heard about because they’re not your area of expertise. They took a leap of faith and went for it.
So many people out there say they dislike their jobs. In fact, studies have shown more than 70% of workers are not satisfied with what their doing. There are many reasons why but the one reason that stood out the most to me is: You rarely feel excited about the work that you’re doing. Wouldn’t you like to spend your days doing things you love? Sharing your gift to everyone? Especially right now when we’re being given the gift of time.
Sooo…let me ask you this question:
What would you do if you weren’t afraid?”
What was the first thing that came into your mind? The first thought that fills you with joy. Now go do it!
